Gregory Duralev Interpol Legal Expert

May 2023, the Comencement Ceremony

in the School of Law at

Washington University in St. Louis

Welcome to UNDER RED NOTICE project - legal blog documenting INTERPOL Red Notices, immigration detention, and transnational political repression.

My name is Gregory Duralev. I am an alumnus of Washington University in St. Louis School of Law (2023). In 2024, I was invited by California Assemblymembers to advocate in support of new legislation against transnational repression.

I was persecuted by corrupt Russian authorities, with the explicit assistance of INTERPOL, and subjected to a Red Notice since November 2016. This persecution led to my arrest on false administrative charges and to 525 days of unlawful immigration detention in the United States, where I still live and raise my daughter. You can check my story on Wikipedia or on Politico.com.

These events led me to write my forthcoming book "Under Red Notice" — a political thriller and memoir based on my experiences in Russia and the United States, focusing on modern forms of transnational political repression and personal transformation. My book to be released in the first quarter of 2026. Read an Exclusive Chapter from the Book

I decided to create this project and legal blog to fill it with valuable, sometimes provoking, information based on my personal experience of a prolonged legal fight that started in Russia and continued in the USA. All information that I share is information I was able to reveal, gather, or develop myself, and it is based on my own experience.

As of the creation of this project, my future is still uncertain; however, I am grateful for the path I have been carving and for this breathtaking journey of deep inner development that is making me a better version of myself. Thank you for spending your precious time on visiting my website!
